Logging and Capturing - Monday 9th

In yesturdays lesson myself and louise spent the lesson logging and and capturing what her and Gerald filmed on Saturday. Lousie and Gerald had to re-fillm many of the outsides shots because the weather outside on the Saturday compared to when we filmed on the monday was dry and sunnier. So we had to re-do the shots that were previously already edited.

Other problems that occured on the Thursday that was re-filmed on the Saturday was the match-cutting shots. This was because when the Teachers and Technicians had a look at what we done. They gave us the advice that we can't match cut from the same angle, and we have to remeber the 180degree rule in order to get the right effect. So it was important for us to re-film that again.

I realised that once we had logged all the shots from Saturdays filming. Myself and Louise were finding it hard to make the shots run smoothly from one shot to another. We tried using some editing features like the cross dissolve. However when we got our Teacher to have a look at it, we realised that we made a general mistake in some of the shots. Wich was not leaving 5 seconds before and after shots when we were logging and capturing. So sadly this became time consuming because we then had to go back to the shots that we wanted to use effects on and Log and capture them all over again.

Once this was done we were able to make our establishin shot, run smoothly into the next shot. Which was a shot of Louise walking down the stairs, inside the house from behind. We were able to cross dissolve effectively. Allowing us to pick up our pace and sync the other shots in well together.
